where wud be the problem? how to locate?

i dl some files from rapidshare.. hope many knew it.. i see that i can dl at the max of 27KB(real good for 256kbps) during day time(2 days back.. my conx is really screwed now)... but during evenings, i get lower speeds. but i guess i get dls from all other sites lowered even!! where wud be the problem? a site like rapidshar that hosts that many files wudnt go down all day evenings?? is it possible? is it a problem with airtel then? how do u determine that there is problem with rapidshare and not with the conx, preferably an alternative than dl from some othe site or going for bw tests

To see if it is a problem with your ISP (highly unlikely), do a quick bandwidth test at any of the free testing sites. Even airtel had one at south.touchtelindia.net, but I couldn't find it again. That shud help narrow down the culprit.

its speed.touchtelindia.net and with taht alone i get 220kbps and all other bandwidth checking sites (first page of google hits with string "bandwidth test" gave me 100 to 130 kbps! nyways, i called them and they did some c*ap as usual and asked me to restart and then i am getting good speeds again! dun know, if they limit if i keep on dl, thou am on a limited scheme! buggers.. thks siriub nyways...

Hi, I am interested in what that "cr*p" that you say they did before you restarted.
And yea, they would've mentioned the atm overhead and stuff. Next they would've asked you to run the stinger test on ur pc.
