Default installing dos 6.0 on hard disk

My problem is that I want to install msdos on a blank hard disk. It has 2 gb space and the pc specifications are on a normal generic pc. The main problem is I cant get the installation software of msdos 6.0 . What I got was an upgrade from dos 6.0 to dos 6.22 . I want to boot off the hard disk straight to dos so that I can run turboc and run my c++ programs on it. I am not asking for a bootable floppy or cdrom but how to install dos on a hard disk so that dos boots off the hard disk. So please help me.

not 100% sure, but I think if you get a DOS boot disk (downloadable at www.bootdisk.com) and then boot from dos, run sys c: (where C: is your hard disk), you will be able to boot from the harddisk after than...

format c: /s will format C: and make it bootable. You can do this even from a Win98SE CD.

There's one more command to do this for formatted disks. I don't remember it properly. Is it sys command?
