No Picture in Creative Webcam

Hi Guys,
Recently I've installed a new Creative WebCam Vista Plus. It is otherwise working normally. But when I play the captured files in its software itself I can only hear the audio and the video screen remains black. I've also tried to play the recorded files in media players such as Windows Media Player and Winamp but have got the same results (only audio). However, in Quick Time Player the files play perfectly (i.e. Audio + Video).
Plz suggest me how can I play the recorded files in WebCam Vista Plus itself. The recorded files are in .avi format.

U mean u can watch the same avi video in QT but not in other players? Did u use gspot to c what codec is in use?

Ya! I can see the recorded .avi file in QT but not in other palyers. However, I've not used the Gspot yet.
N.B.: My system is Win XP (SP2).

Well abhijit u simply haven't got enough codecs to view the avi file. Just use some codec pack like gspot as puja suggested or k-lite or any other good one. Also it could be cos u r lacking divx codecs. Then you can download divx player from here http://www.divx.com/divx/player/

DivX is missing in ur sys install the latest ver and ull get the vidz on ur pc.

Dood gspot is not a codec pack its a software used to get info abt the video i.e. which codec is used n all.

Oops sorry where did I leave my brains last night?

if there is no Divx then how did he recorded the file at first place, besides, DivX encoded avi will not play in quicktime

play the file in quicktime, go to windows->show movie info, & take a look at the video & audio codec listed there
