Default Edit: DVD not detecting!! HELP!!!


hey mann...
i bought a Sims 2 compendium DVD.....
i brought it home put it in the Combo drive....
and then.....
nothing happened....
the drive is not recognizing the DVD....
is there some way to get it done or do i have to get the DVD exchanged..... the problem is that no one near my house has a DVD drive so i cannot test it there too....
this is so pi$$ing me offff.....
please can someone help me and QUICK!!!!

check the drive for dust and lense probs !! Also check ur drive by inserting another DVD into the drive and c wether its detecting it . If everything with the drive is fine the check wether your drive supports double layered disc (if tht Dics u bought is double layered) .. If none of these work then take it to the person from whom you bought it from and get it checked there !

Ps : As i was told .. please be specific in the titles of your post . Give a lil title considering your problem rather then desperate help needed .

can u be more specific as to how shud i check for lens dust....
i tries a GTA:SA DVD it worked.... digit DVDs are not also detected.....
I just upgraded my firmware... no use....
I use a samsung combo....

use a lense cleaner ......

I had a similar problem with My old Lg DVD Rom ..... it used to detect DvD's sometimes only .. but luckily i thrashed it and got a Sony DVDRw .. no such problem since !

PS : Does you DVD Drive also break CD's ?? cause mine used to and a lot of !

just flicked in my audio lens cleaner and now everything works fine.... thanks dude!! *y didnt it trigger in my mind??*
