Default Can Service Pack 2 be a culprit??

I have installed Service Pack 2 on my PC.

Now whenever the Computer starts, n if i navigate to -
Start>Connect to> Dial-up,

the Start Menu hangs. Other activities can be carried out smoothly.
Menu responds after 10 min n so. I have to wait for 10 min to connect to the Internet.

I have Celeron 1.7, 256 RAM. So is it Becoz of Service Pack 2??
Becoz this wasnt the problem before.

could be i think xp on its own takes up a lot of memory and hence that could be , what is causing you a problem.

Simply make a shortcut of ur connection at desktop or quick launch bar and start always from there...

Default Patience....

vishal gupta is right. in my pc (256 mb ddr +p4 2.4ghz +intel 865) running win xp sp2 the same prob occurs when try to conect from start menu. using a desktop sh cut solves it.

BUT if i stand by for a 40-50 seconds until all app-s (antivir & firewall which r in startup) have fully initialized, then i can smoothly connect via the start menu. i do this actually and so have dun away with the desktop sh cut.
