size : 128*128
software : nokia pc suite / oxygen phone manager
i prefer the latter
method : data cable / IR port ( USB to IR for Rs. 800 )

my friend had the same problem how to install new ringtones and pictures in his 6610. He practically every software available but unfortunately it didnt work so well for him and when he tried the data cable it clicked for him.
Till now i think he is using the data cable for transfering stuff (been close to a year and a half now)

So i would suggest to go in for a data cable much viable option than the software and i think you are getting some software cd plus a ringtones and picture wallpaper cd so jump at that deal dude!!

techjunkie and technojunky ???
hehehe
anyways 1) technojunky ... tone down ur font
u dun need to use caps
2) yes pc suite is good
but other software offer soo much more
for eg
loading java games
thru pc suite it goes in the apps folder
i can put it in the games folder using oxygen phone manager
again using oxygen i can set any image as my operator logo or startup logo
ofcourse i designed the Op logo first

hey dont get me wrong raven i have nothing against oxygen phone manager as i normally use my bluetooth dongle to transfer games, ringtones and wallpapers into my 6600 so i wouldnt know much about oxygen i just said what my friends experience with transferring stuff.

But anyway i am normally in for free software kinda in the open source application so i rareky go into buying programs and only an absolute must have i purchase or else i find some freeware alternative.

Get DKU-5 Connectivity Adapter Cable, which connects your phone and computer through USB port and along which comes a CD with driver files and softwares.

To upload wall papers, the wall papers must be in 128*128 ! Have Phun

u have to register ur diff. phones separately in oxygen
drag and drop the filed u want in the right window ... and then when there is a change detected u can write to phone
also make sure u have enuff space
anyways use nokia pc suite .. its less complicated
and since u want only wall papers ....

Cheap Dku 5 cables are available locally ...but please stay away from them as they are pseudo USB....mean though they seem as USB cable but in reality ( PROLIFIC CABLE ) they have to be assigned a serial port..its too head banging operation...
Get a original DKU 5 cable for peace of mind...its more reliable...

another dead thread gets revived as i didnt want to be blamed for making another thread for a topic that already exists.

My data cable is very slow guys.i click on nokia file browser and it almost hangs my laptop.explorer starts using 99% of the cpu and still takes a long time before it can show the contents of the phone.then too after opening every folder i have to wait for a long time before i can actually see the files.
transfering files with infrared used to be very easy but its having problems too.(as described in another thread)
