without warning in the sense, it just suddenly says "windows is shutting down" huh?. after such an incident, maybe you could go into the CMOS and check the CPU and mobo temperatures.....the shutdown temperatures are usually defined here. if that cause is ruled out, then it might be a virus. as soon as you start up your computer, go to start->run and type shutdown-a and press enter. this will disable software level shut down...now you could search your computer for unwanted active processes or run a virus scanner.
does it just shut down or shutdown and restart without warning? hard ware problems such as overheating, problematic smps or ram can cause this. monitor temperature to verify overheating. send smps and ram for testing...
other reasons can also be harddisk related, etc...
It shuts down only. No restart and it just keeps on for only half an hour. After half hour of working it automatically powers off - does not let Windows XP Shut down and creates mess.
the system restarts all of a sudden...just like someone is physically powering off.....but very strange is that this doesnt happens whn iam logged in as local user...happens only when iam logged in as admin.....i started using pc with limited account...and it is very very helpfull..any problem switch to admin and troubleshoot
