Hi there,

Is there any way to turn off the monitor through software or a shortcut and to turns it on when there is any movement on mouse or keyboard. Actually my monitor switch off button is out of order and I cannot wait of 10min before the windows turns off the monitor!!

You can decrease the time to a minimum of 1 min
Right Click on desktop
Go to Screen Saver -> Power
In the option Turn off monitor you can decrease it till 1 min

There is one little program made in Delphi which I found couple of months back when I was in the same situation as you.

I must say though its a awesome tiny program to shut off the monitor which worked for me.

But before you go ahead double clicking that file have a look at the disclaimer.

Code:

As always, I must point out that you download and use this program at your own risk. I see no way it could do anything bad to your system, but if for some unforeseen reason it did do anything bad, I will not be held responsible.

Hi digen,

Thanks a lot; I was exactly looking for the same software. Now another question….how can I run this software while I’m on the login screen which comes after we press “Switch User.

Thanks

Why not adjust the power options in Windows itself so that the monitor can turn off after 2 or 3 min.
