If u have a third party recorder, then check if it is correctly installed. Also check if "enable cd rcording in this drive" is checked in the drive's recording tab.

Hey i had the same problem,it was not reading my CDs (written with DATA ofcourse.. ) so i got a PHILIPS CD LENS cleaner for Rs.140/-and cleaned the lens. The DRIVE worked for sum hours in normal state but i was again back to the same old condition where my CDs were not being read by the drive. So alas i hv to give it for repairing to the SAMSUNG wala's wich repaired my DRIVE for a whooping Rs.400/- (yeah i knw guys tat SAMSUNG drives do hv these problems with thme but i wouldrather get it repaired as i jus wanna use my old drive of 3 yrs old for sum more time b4 i switch on o a new SONY drive)..

Cheers n e-peace...
