Problem with IRDA

Hi,
I have a Infrared-USB adapter. I've installed the driver provided with it. The device is getting recognized but doesn't work. The device prperties section reports that the device could not be started. What could be the proble. Please help if any of you have come across this proble or know the solutions for this

if u are using windows xp, then enable the Infra red serivce from admin tools>services
