can b virus problem... so get good antivirus as well as antispyware software.. load the latest service pack & updates for the OS...

make sure all the devices get proper drivers

make sure that system stays inside the normal temp... if system heats up very much then this kind of hunging problems comes...

Do what Saurav said. Get Spybot S&D / Spy Cleaner and Some nice Anti Virus like McAffe or Kaspersky or something else and run a full extensive scan on your system, it might yield some interesting results. I think the problem is mostly spyware. Your specs are great but are you overclocking your system beyond a limit, that too might be the problem. So, check these out.

Get Lavasoft's AD Aware 1.06 and also Spybot S&D and run a full system scan, its mainly due to spywares and/or viruses.

Chers n e-peace...

I have tried installing AVG 7.0 Free version. But Since I am running Windows XP 64-bit Version, I couldn't install it.
What would be the best Anti Virus Scanner for the 64-bit version ( And please!, not Norton )...
