Well I am writing a guide called
"Backup Updates and Settings of your Softwares" which will include all famous softwares. I am hoping to complete it by September end. Will release it first on Digit Forum.

Well I have checked and found that all Avast! updates are in folder C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup Backup this complete folder.

Also there is no need to use Avasts own update program

better to get the .exe file of the update from
www.avast.com

it will probably be this
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/vpsupd.exe

Thanks
Regards..
