Help me to setup

I am bcoz in win 98 nowadays many of the setup files is not working.whenever i execute them a box appears bearing 'Unhandled exception' and some error number and describing that 'Incompatible version of the RPC stub'.Plz help me solve this and make me

try reinstalling win98

first run sfc.exe
and bring back all windows files that were deleted/changed to older ver.

if it doesn't solve then reinstall over current windows

if it doesn't solve then format and install fresh win98 or better winxp or win2k if u have slow system

My friend had the same problem. But in his case, the cd icon used disaapear if a cd wid scratches was used.
It turrned out da prob was in the hardware and it was solved once he got it repaired.

Ohho .. Rocky ... you should have searched this forum for earlier posts .. anyway.. I post again ..
That Incompatible Version of RPC Stub error is due to InstallSheild's messup of systom files .. anyways .. here is the cure :

I recommend u to download Msrepair.exe even if u have Office 2000 on ur system ..
