Now what could be the reason for this? It happens in almost all the downloads and not specific to Opera 8.50 latest release which I was downloading in this screenshot.

Thats rubbish data, it happens with all torrent clients and is not limited to Bitcomet. Some peers are sending you bad data that has to be discarded. This can also happen due to an inefficient internet connection where peers have trouble connecting to you.
I downloaded a lot also before this but everytime this problem arises in Bitcomet. For GTA SA I had to download 4.6GB instead of 3.9GB - Poor me.
usually, when the piece size is soooo large like 1 MB or 2 MB, i get this sort of problem... otherwise, u download a little more than the actual files at times, if there r errors.. else the same size.. u can seldom expect that to happen always.. especially with 2 MB per piece.. i think peer guardian cud stop those bad data sending peers??? also azureus has the option i think... if same peer received packets hav errors, it stops receiving from that peer... i guess so... except for the resource usage azureus is fine.
