Default pc repeatedly hanging


hi
i have a problem wid my pc. when i use my pc it hangs at ne odd time . sometimes it works well for 4 hrs but then sometimes it conks off in 4 mins. there is no warning msg frm windows . the red light in my pc just goes off.
i had recently put another 64mb of sdram . can it be d cause of this

also i have tried reformatting

but d problem still persists

plz help!!!!!!!!!! :roll:

Check the other ram sticks details(fsb etc).
Maybe they dont match.

Yeah , it could be one of the reasons, do check the techSpecs abut the ream u put , coz u need to have same speed for both the chips to work..
one more things, do check ur Processor Fan , incase it stops or malfunctions , then PC hangs

What OS do you use?
If its the NT/2K/XP family then check the system log n memory dump.

from the bios disable quick boot. this double checks your ram. with faulty ram booting is a problem but if it boots then the ram shoudn't cause problems

If nothing works disassemble yr system and again
assemble it from sratch.
Maybe if ur lucky n some loose connection is .....
