Default 64 bit or 32


I have the following configuration
AMD Athlon64 3500+,Asus A8N Sli Premium motherboard,2 Gb 400mhz Ram,400 Gb Seagate Sata HD,XFX 6800 GT 256 MB GPU,Sony DVD drive & writer.Running Win XP media centre Edition
I have 2 problems:1st windows 98 & millenium doesnt install on my system
and 2nd is that i am unable to use 64 bit,windows only show me 16 and 32 bit

dont know about ur first problem but as for the second one, Windiows shows only 2 options because u r having a 32 bit Windows XP OS. MS released 64 Bit Winodws XP seperately, which has the 64 BIT option

Yu cant/mustnot install 89/me on xp or greater versions of windows...

tis a bit difficult to do so...

I think the win98 and win me are not supported by u r system...and the second thing it that i think u have not installed 64bit version of XP

I have heard that there are some problems in installing win 98 on SATA hdd.
You can search in the forum for help.
For your second problem everyone above has correctly said you must install Win XP 64 bit edition to explore the power of your PC.

AFAIK the new 64 bits nvidia boards be it ASUS or MSI dont support Win 98.
