cd writing error

i have a sony dvd combo drive...... when i write a cd it writes upto 3 percent and then stops for a while........ after that it gives cannot perform fixation erorr... wat should i do???????????

What burner do you have? > Nero ?
Try installing Nero 6, with latest updates on the website..

please post all error you gets.

Can you post the error log file of your burning software???
What media are you using? If you are using very cheap media then this is possible. Try changing the media to a different brand post your result here...

Try to change the CD media ur using.
Try re-installing the software.
Try it on other OS.
Try it on friends computer.
Check out the cables.

Probably its the CD media problem

i m using nero 6 and i tried 3 different medias but still not working..........

Try using a lens cleaner, must ave been covered by dust...

Else rely on ur warranty period.

Also plz install ASPI again and try.

Try defragementing ur hard drive.
