Is AGP 8X compatible with AGP 4X port?

Hiya Mates,
I hv a query.
I hv Intel 815E motherboard with AGP 4X port.
I plan to buy a FX5200 card though I hv a GF4MX400 card.
What I want to know is : Is AGP 8x Cards compatible with AGP 4X port?
My elder sister is in USA, she is coming this oct!! And she is bringing one of the cards from :

Yes u can use a AGP 8X card on your 4x slot, but it wont give you the same performance as in the case of a AGP 8X card in a 8X slot.But the difference is hardly noticeable.

yeah sure mate an 8x card will surely work on a 4x agp port but the acleration will not be achieved at the max,as the 8x cards are built to perform much more on a 8x port than a 4x port.But hey u can sure get a decent performance depending on the agp acceleration speed of ur motheroards agp slot.so go ahead buy one.peace.
