the page file usage tells us how much the virtual memory is being used by windows....

If u know that windows uses some space from harddisk as RAM.. to cut short the requirement of RAM and to improve the performance....
That graph shown in XP determines that...

Yes the pagefile is an HDD expansion for ur ram !

If ur sys is low on RAm then pagefile is used !

But it takes longer time to access than RAM, so it can't act as a substitute for RAM.
