Default Floppy Drive accessing every 30 seconcds

Recently, I bought in a floppy from my college which was loaded with virus. However, I copied only the necessary files and not the virus. In my college system, the system checks for floppies periodically almost once in a minute or so. I noticed that if a floppy was being present in the drive, then there were numerous files.. everything a *.exe file. Then when I put that damn floppy in my system, voila! I thought i wasn't affected. But i was. Now my system makes the same things. Worse, My Opera Browser's menu commands and right click options and everything has been changed... Every new flppy is also infected. When I tried to disable the floppy, my computer started up as normal, but then hung up after a minute or so. I am using Windows 98 SE. Anyone got a solution for this?

Update your Anti Virus software and run a full system scan.

Also download and run Autoruns.exe from www.sysinternals.com and check what programs are running during startup and remove unsigned programs.

If the virus is not removed in normal scanning...run a full/thorough system scan in SAFE MODE...

Please mention wat type of AV (Anti virus) ur using...If u wanna use any free AV then go in for Avast! Antivirus
www.avast.com and also this (for a free home PC user edition) http://www.avast.com/eng/desktop_protection.html

cheers n e-peace.....

Default Problem still persists

I've been using Avast! Antivirus for the past 4 months! It's good. I can't deny that. But in spite of that the problem still persists! An interesting feature is that sometime in the middle of this mess, my floppy drive was ok and my Writer behaved exactly like the floppy did! The tray came out and closed on its own accord exactly 30 seconds apart! Then again, the problem shifted to my floppy drive. The floppy is making such a noise that my dad couldn't work on the comp for more than half an hour! I've installed Ad-Aware SE Personal and run it on my machine. It found many malware and Data miners, but the problem still persists. How can remove this worm or virus or Trojan or whatever it is?

A sure sign of infection. Do all this happens specifically when you are connected to net?

Default Woes still continue

If all this had happened specifically when I was online, things would have been much better... But no, this thing happens every 30 seconds irrespective of whether I'm online or not. One more thing! I use both Win XP Prof and Win 98SE. Now this thing happens only in Win98SE! Now this is what I call as Strange!
