Default few little queries about console options!


hi all,

can U plzz tell me how to check the disk space of each drive individually through console i mean at command.exe ....

& one more ....

when we run any batch file .. there is a console window which gets displayed .. can we hide that window from being displayed while the batch file is RUN! .

plzz these queries are important! .. thanks! in advance!

U can hide the console windows by Right-clicking on it and select Run as Minimized, then it'll run as minimized and will not be visible...

And for check the disk space u can run fdisk /status command ( but its available only in Win 98 ).

Hmm...In 2000/XP, you can use the command chkdsk X: where X: is the Drive Letter of your choice, though this command does lot more than checking Disk Space.

But, there's a Resource Tool Kit is available for Windows 2000, which has a command called freedisk to show Free Disk space. You have to extract this file related to this command either from CD or from a website. This MAY work in XP too!
