Default vanishing of a partition

Hi
I m using 40 GB harddisc, in dual boot system. I've three partitions one of 10 GB and two each of 15 GB. In my XP all the three partitions are visible. but in 98 SE only two partitions are visible. In place of third partition my CD Rom appears. What must be the cause and help me to retrive my lost partition.

Is the hidden 3rd partion in windows 98 is the partition, in which windows XP installed?
If YES, then it must be NTFS partition, thats why its not visible in windows 98.
Windows 98 can't show NTFS partitions...

Hmmm.. In Windows XP do this thing :
Start > Run > Diskmgmt.msc <Press Enter>

Check if those partitions which arent visible in 98 are NTFS or not ..
