Default ram speed problem

hi people , got a problem i can't figure out by myself. I have just purchased 2x 256 mb transcend ddr 400 ram modules to work on my ASUS P4P800E DELUXE board which is based on intel 865 pe chipset . It supports dual channel ddr ram .. so i have connected them in dual channel mode and they are working fine in dual channel mode .. but when i checked it through 'cpu- z' software, the working speed is just 133.3 mhz which translated into ddr 266 mhz speed and also fsb to dram ratio is 3:4.

I have pentium 4 1.7 ghz - 400 mhz fsb - 256 kb L2 cache processor.

I just can't figure out why these modules are not working at 400 mhz speed .. Also i can't find any option in my bios which can change the fsb to dram ratio ... people pls help me solve this issue ...

I have checked the ram modules on other board ... they are indeed ddr 400 mhz speed modules ..

so who is the culprit here ? pls help

ohhh ohhh

the board does support DDR 400 but only if you have a 800mhz FSB cpu.

Your p4 is only a 400mhz fsb one so all rams will only run at 133 mhz (266mhz ddr)

One way you can fix this is by getting a p4 with 800mhz fsb.

sorry
