Guys thanx for the advice but i need some help on a couple of questions

1. Which processor should I go for 3.0 , 3.2 , 3.4?? and also lemme know the price of the same if u'have them.

2. Should I go in for the new chipset mobo i.e 915 or the 925 or stick to the 875 and what would it cost me? also if it is the 875 then which company sould i go for the MSi,Intel or ASUS.Have heard the MSI is a good Buy.

3. Then comes the ram i am planning to buy the kingston DDR ram 512 (256*2 i.e dual channel)

4. Depending on the chipset mobo i want to decide the graphix card till around 12k or if there is any card with a better performance which is cheaper

5. Also the cabinate I would like to know which one is better interested in acralic one's. But the any other good ones will also do

6 A good 17" crt moniter flat or semi flat

P.S. quote the prices also if you know them

1 - Which processor you wanna go for ? AMD or Intel ? Your mobo selection will depend on that. Personally I would say go for AMD. ave been using AMD processors since 1999 and still they work fine. Amazing performace esp for that price. Mobo ASUS or MSI doesnt matter both are equally good mobos

Go for a Hynix,Corsiar 333/400 htz RAMS

Doesnt really matter mate...for 12K get the Raedon Powercolor Pro for graphics card. If you can extend your budget a lil then go for the 6600 card from Nividia which I think has been released here...Amazing card mate! I think its around 16k

i agree with nikihlesh
an amd will be a good buy
for intel and all i suggest u wait till next year ... thats when it SHOULD set in
if u ARE going for intel. . theres no point in going anything else but ur new chipset unfortnately ..
ull get a new lga775 3.4ghz. ... for ard 12-13k
asus 915 chipset mobo ( supports ddr and ddr2) 13k
512 mb ddr400 ram ... 4k
17"crt flat .... 6.5k-7k
acrylic cases wil be hard to come by and wont cost u less than 4k
a nice case with min 400w PSU is what u need
ull get it for in and ard 2.5k
graphics card radeon 9800pro 14.5k
similar AMD64 config will cost u ard 5k less

ok guys appreciate you advice but this is getting confusing .

after consulting my friends I think I would like to go in for the AMD 64 bit ,but are there any heating problems or anything?

secondly I checked the ASUS site for the mobo there is new mobo K8N so basically which one is better?

thirdly which socket is recommended checked the AMD website they have AMD 64fx-53 socket 940 and 939 and AMD 64fx-51 socket 940 so which one is better

forthly wht would be the difference in terms of price between the pentium config and the AMD config?
also is the Redeon 9800pro supported on the AMD?

planning to keep the mem dual channel i.e 256*2

ok lets take this one at a time
no more cooling problems with AMD
infact pentiums are hotter right now ... tho even thats fixed to some extent now i think
k8n is if im not mistaken .. an amd board ...
939's are a better socket .. but currently from asus only the VIA chipset is available ... dunno when the nForce4's will be out .. those will be the best ...
64FX-53 will be more costly than the amd64 so look into that as well
price difference would be there acc. to ur selection
if ur going for the most high end of components ... like i already mentioned. .. there will be a diff of upto 5k or more ..
yes 9800 pro is an agp8x card .. and it is supported by amd MOBO's
the processor has nuthin to do with it
dual channel ddr 400 2*256 mb is just perfect for now
