You can use Winzip (www.winzip.com)
PowerArchiver(www.powerarchiver.com)
WinRAR(www.winRAR.com)
ZipGenius etc (http://www.zipgenius.it/index2.html) (FREE)

Zip archives are faster than RAR but RAR is better in compression.

The amount of compression achived largely depends on the data you are compressing. If its already in a compressed format, like jpg or mpg, you wont get such a compression

well winrar is one of the best but the compression depends upon the type of file ur compressing usually text related files like dll`s and stuff give more compression level so if u compress games and stuff u`ll get better results for setups and stuff it`s low

DesertWind has already said that compression depends on the type of data.That data must already be compressed.

@mako_123

mate just what type of file u tryed to compress?? see if u want to compress a NAV05 (Trial) installletion file which is around 35MB... now here no matter what u try u cant make it under 34MB.... why not as its already been compressed...

so if u try 35MBs of .doc, .pdf.... then u can see the work.. it will come down a lot....

compression depends on the type of the file , not all types of file compress to same levels .

btw anyone heard of 'uharc' compression , very high compression but toooo slow.
