Default Sudden stopage


Got a PC wit 845 Intel Motherboard,P-IV 2.4GHz Processor,256DDR RAM,gets stopped suddenly after a few minutes after booting.It stops totally no reboots.Someone plz help.

try safe mode and go for system restore if using Xp

what do you mean ?

does the os comes fully or just the computer doesn't boots ?

try resettign the cmos

check for heat

Does the OS stop loading at the boot screen or does it proceed further & then hang.

I faced the similiar problem when i used Win 2000.

Had no option but to format & reinstall.

Everything starts fine,u can start workin but suddenly the power supply gets off.

dude atleast specify clearly wat the problem is properly if u want solutions

ok firstly
Does the power supply get OFF at the same point of booting or random ??
might be a faulty SMPS

no no no,, this is no power supply problem.... there has been some wrong installation .... this happen with 2000.. even if u install a wrong driver then this happens too.. after the post booting.... keep pressing F8..... you will get a menu and try to enter at start windows with the cfig that worked properly last.. then you might get to start windows 2000. if this fails then u got to reload the OS... as u cant access regitsry in 2000-- unlike 98.. best of luck

Re-installing the OS will tell u whether n OS problem or SMPS or something other.
