Default How this happens?

Nowdays When I connect to Sify Broadband and logout, it seems that it does not logs out even after successful logout message. I am still accessing net at this time without logging in. Also it seems that this decreases the balance rapidly because some type of transfer happens , while opening offline html files.

No dude, if u dont use the net no transfer happens!
There is no automatic transfer!
And i dont know what u sayin about loggin in broadband..i really dont get it! We log in dial up right?

I have other broadband, but when i switch on the pc the net is accessible on just one browser click...no logging in or typing user and pass!
See ur cable modem it is blinking even if u switch off ur PC that means ur connected ok!

Any way if u logout and still access net thats good sign coz u can access net on just one browser click when PC starts....neways no charges if dont use the net!

You did not understand my question properly. Firstly I want replies from Sify BB Users. Secondly I want to know whether accessing net without using any dialer also lead to balance decrease as it happens often that I am able to use Net without any type of dialer.

Till the problem gets solves, use ZoneAlarm and engage internet lock as soon as you are thru. That will prevent any data transfer to and fro your machine.

this may be the prob i donno but on my lan(not sify)

if u dont logout and just shut down ur pc then the connection remains alive and if somebody else uses ur IP address then he can access ur net connection i have tried it myself and it works with my friend also have complained about it

maybe u can call sify about the prob as ur balance is reducing

My friend who had sify some months ago, said he had the same problem too. Though, I doubt that he had extra bytes travelling around without his knowledge.
