IE6.0, link is not openning

In IE6.0 when i open a site and when i click a link there a seperate window open but nothing happens. Even its address bar remains empty. Also when i right click and choose 'open in new window' the same thing happens. Even when clicking link should open in the same page the page goes blank as 'the page cann't be displayed'. Is there any solution?

well come to the forum mate...

now give us some more details about which OS u r useing?? what kind to connection u use?? do u have any proxy set up or not?? some times 3rd party software can cause this kind a problem.... so scan ur system for Spyware & for Virus.. & post ur HijackThis log file here....

Well, the operating system is WIN 98SE with digit's 'Service Pack 1 for win 98se'. I installed IE6.0 three days back. I use Reliance FWT for internet connection. This version of internet explorer worked fine for first two days but when system hanged once then the problem started. Probably there is no virus or spyware as Avast antivirus and spy sweeper always run on my machine. Is this something about setting or advance option in internet explorer?
