Default one silly question !!!!!!!!


my desktop will soon be migrating to my dads office.till i get my new rig i will be using my laptop.i m planning to change my desktops 80gb hdd into an external usb hdd as all my stuff is loaded in that

what i want to know that can i boot my laptop with that external hdd ?

laptop has xp home and the planned external hdd has xp pro.

if u have an ide HDD install XP on it and then back up.

New genration LAPTOPs does support that option... see here & here...

but u know what MS says about it.??

well thats not possible in laptops but still u can use internal hdd of yopur laptop

Many new motherboards from Intel(not sure of others) support USB BOOT. Make sure the Option is available in ur laptop and enabled too. Then u can try booting from it.
