Default Your Gaming Rig and Graphics Query Rig...

Hi

The abt graphics catds thread is pretty flooded and busy , also very narrow streamed compared to peoples recent demands.

Mostly for games of 2004-2005 and this may not be true for 2005-2006 through out.
Correct me if i am wrong.

RAM(2004-2006,emphasis on 2005-2006-2007 mid )
512mb:low end, play upcoming games at 800*600 med and pasted out games at 1024*768 high - mid
1024mb ram:mid range, play upcoming games at 1024*768 , mid-high or even highest and pasted out games at 1280*1024/1600*1200 highest (no aa/af incl unless automatic)
2048mb : play any upcoming game fine
Ram ddr-slow
ddr 333-ok
ddr 400+ - up to date

CPU
Amd 64bit 3700/Intel 3.8ghz - any up coming game just fine
Amd 64bit / Intel 3.0HT non-celeron(preferably 3.4 or amd 3200 64bit +)- recent games at 1280*1024 or 1600*1200,mostly,highest or higher res
Athlon XP 2800/Intel 2.8:1024*768-1600*1200 med-highest(mostly high-mid or high or better)
Amd 2400/Intel 2.4-1024*768 +- , med-high
<you shd upgrade
you may be able to play pasted out games at 800*600 med or of the likes

Correct me anywhere i am wrong as this can be a chance, this is not exactly same for each game.

Serious gamers:
Minimum:128mb geforce 6600gt

are there probs with X800's
atleast aren't 6800 / x800 moddable.

Better: 256mb geforce 6800gt/ultra(doesn't ultra and x800xl now come in 512mb)

Best: 7800gtx 256mb

Even Better:SLI 7800gtx 256mb(doesn't it have probs with msi k8n diamond )

@akshayt
good initiative u took to help others purchase graphic cards according to their needs but your post is entirely cluttered and unreadable and confusing... plz improve that. also as u have posted that min 2 gb of ram will let u play any current game , i would like to correct u that 512 mb or more of ram is good enough even for doom 3 provided u have a decent gpu. 2 gb is just a hype !!!
