How exactly does it crash? To check the drive for errors, run scandisk in "thorough" mode.

dude....That cannot be the reason for Windows to Crash !!...Run the Defrag First and Then as mentioned , Run ScanDisk . And a Clean Format afterwards..and Install XP frm Some Other CD....

hmmmmm seems like u install & uninstall a lot of softwares .so install 1 more software NORTON SYSTEM WORKS and check your registry for errors ..i am pretty much sure its a registry problem used to happen with me a lot ..update all ur hardwre drivers
