Well if ur using win98 it'll work but it wont!
Anyway its not some password trick! its a total restriction thing!

1. suppose u wanna secure "c:\temp" folder
2. goto command mode, enter root directory i.e c:\
3. type "ren temp alt+1234"->enter
Now see whether the temp folder has changed!
To bring it back to unsecure mode
type "ren alt+1234 temp"

here u can type any number instead 1234 and itwill give some symbol!

Caution!!!
If u forget the the symbol number like "1234" here, u may not be able to delete the folder by anymeans!
Rumours have it u maynot be even ableto format the disk!

In case if we forgot the symbol number, like 1234, we can safely rename or delete the folder in Win XP, cauz win xp lets u to view or edit the folder.
This trick doesnt work in XP only for 98...

U can create ne partition and can make it invisible in my computer using following registry trick:

Start -> Run, type Regedit, goto:

HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt Version\Policies\Explorer

Now in right-pane create a new DWORD value NoViewOnDrive and set its value:

4: To protect C: Drive
8: To protect D: Drive
7: To protect A:, B:, C: Drive
3: To protect A:, B: Drive
f: To protect A:, B:, C:, D: Drive
3ffffff: To protect All Drive
0: To protect NO Drive

U can simply change the value of NoViewOnDrive to 0 in Registry, whenever u want to access the drive...

What you can do is make a small partition and mount it on a folder and password protect it. See disk management in Win XP for further details. You can mount a partition on a folder just like in Linux.
