i am planning to buy an Athlon64 processor...

since i have the monitor,speaker,K/B and Mouse, CD-RW allready, iam planning to buy processor M/B RAM and a hard disk only... is it enough..? is there any items to change apart of this...? kindly give me the price of the processors(Athlon 64 only or any processor which gives the same performance) M/B RAM and harddisk... Budget?

==============================================
If u want a good future proof config then go for
AMD 64 bit 3000 (socket 939) - Rs 7500
MSI RS480M2-IL Motherboard - Rs 5000
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...M2-IL&class=mb
Total - 12.5K

==============================================
Or if on medium budget then go for
AMD 64 Bit 2800 (socket 754) - Rs 4900
MSI RS480M-IL Motherboard - Rs 3600 (best thing is that this mobo has PCI 16X slot which is not available on any other socket 754 mobo)
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...0M-IL&class=mb
Total - 8.5K

==============================================
U may also need DDR RAM and both the above boards support Dual channel so get 2 * 256MB (or 2 * 512MB if u can) Ram Modules.
2 * 256MB 400Mhz Ram will cost - Rs 2500
2 * 512MB 400Mhz Ram will cost - Rs 4300 (heard that the new windows OS will require minimum of 512 MB Ram So get 1GB)
http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp...216&cat_id=580

"As expected, Windows Vista Beta 1 will not run on any entry level PC that the markets of today are dishing out. It requires a fairly modern Intel Pentium 4 or an AMD Athlon-based PC, a graphics accelerator card with full DirectX 9.0 support and a whopping 512 MB or more of system RAM.

==============================================
Don't worry about graphics card if are not a hardcore gamer.The onboard graphics of this mobo is sufficient enough to play all the latest game at decent settings.

==============================================
If u need any more info visit
http://www.computerwarehouse-india.com/default.asp
though the site is not good,it gives u an idea about the prices.

I dont think that board is available so no point recommending it.

How exactly does a Socket 754 Board support Dual Channel Mode ? This is news to me, care to clarify your claim ?

If it does happen,its a good thing.

Well i guess i was talking about DUAL CHANNEL Mode which concerns the RAM,you are talking about Dual Core CPU..lol

Anyways it truely amazes me how exactly does a Socket 754 Board supports AMD Athlon 64 X2 ?
AFAIK,there is no X2 expected in S754 format.

NO you need to get some brains....

How are you possibly able to run a socket 754 based system with Dual Channel DDR Ram ????

If you are weak at basic, get them right first.

Lol
you look seriosuly pissed.

Well the A64 has the memory controller embedded in the CPU itself and the Socket 754 CPUs didnt have a dual channel memory controller and the board you mentioned is a Socket 754 board and it says it supports Dual Channel mode but how is it possible if the Memory controller itself doesnt support it ?
