Zonealarm does not allow connection

I use Windows XP prof. I have zonealarm 5.1.11.0 installed. My problem is that as long as zonealarm is working, I dont have access to the internet. The internet refuses to connect and gives an error saying that the remot computer refused connection or a PPP link error. This happens as long zonealarm is on. Please help to solve this problem to connect to the internet as well as run zonealarm simultaneously.

you could have told us how you connect to internet !

anyways, i think u use dial up.
you have to allow your modem's dialup software to connect to internet in zone alarm's program control.
In zone alarm -> program control -> Main tab : put program control level to medium
and in Programs tab : look at the program list, if you have disallowed your modem-software to acces internet

Are you using the Pro version or Free one? Right-clicn on ZoneAlarm icon in System Tray, and check whether "Internet lock is engaed" or not, if it's engaed, click on it to disengage the lock. Also, make sure that "Stop all Internet activity" is unchecked.
If this doesnt solve your problem, right-click on ZA icon in SystemTray, and click "Restore ZoneAlarm Control Centre". Here click the "Overview" tab, and click "Reset to default" button, which will be present at the bottom of the ZA Control Center.
