Default Urgent Help required!!!

i am frequently facing a problem of system crash down. it happens without any prior hangs or dll missing errors.

after a successful bootup.... i receive this message "NTLDR is missing".

i am using two operating systems i.e. XP home ed & Pro ed.

when i get this message i try to install once again one of the OS. after successful installation when the system restart i gain back all the previous OS working perfectly.

i want to know what is the basic problem i am facing here. since both my OS are Original versions.

what is "NTLDR" means???

System Spec:
OS :- Windows XP + SP2 + AutoPatcher
INTEL P IV CPU 3.00GHz
ASUS 875P Motherboard
XFX NVIDIA 5700LE AGP
SAMSUNG 160+80 GB SATA HDD
512+256 MB RAM

Hard drive problem. Could be because of faulty ram or something. Overlocking??? Bad IDE cable? bad power supply? NTLDR is the loader for windows NT/XP etc... It is just like saying missing command.com but you know its there.

If you have another device on your HD as slave try changing it as well.

Try resetting the BIOS. Press DELETE key when you start the PC. Then there will be options like "Load best performance settings" or "Load Optimal Settings" or "Load default settings". Choose any of these and apply the changes and exit from BIOS. Next, check for the errors.

You can get more info about that error here.

Well frequent system crashes can be very annoying

reading ur pc config i noticed u have got two ram chips well
if they both are from different chipset then it causes trouble
[chipset`s are usually mentioned on the ram chips itself]

well the solution is just keep anyone of the ram chips on probably 512
one and then reinstall the os as usual maybe this will solve the problem

well the same thing had happened with me i removed one of the chips and got a compatible one n dat worked out well
