Default Copy Of FarCry

Hi.
I just bought myself an original pack of Farcry (I'm telling the truth).
Now, I want to make a backup copy of all the CD's thru which I can play/install so as to avoid damage/wear/tear to original CD's (they're costly).
What I would like to know is that are those original CD's (Farcry) copy protected? I mean, if I make a copy of those CD's, would the game run fine or would it give me an error like "Insert correct CD" or something like that while playing thru copied CD?
I don't want to make a virtual drive/image on my hard disk (that takes space).
Kindly help.

Or, if u have the hdd space, u can use virtual cd or alcohol 120% to create a 1:1 copy onto your hdd and use them as virtual cdrom drives. This way, u don't have to use the original/backup cd/dvd rom in your cd drive and u get hdd transfer speeds instead of cdrom speeds.
But both of them are sharewares.

edit:
I got some strange error when posting this but it got posted alright. Thought I might report it (I don't know phpbb stuff).
Code:
