Default Help Failed Hibernation and Standby Attempts

Hi friends
Help required

Up to a couple months ago could successfully recover from hibernation & standby. Then 1 day this was not possible again. When the computer goes into hibernation, the normal process is carried out and the computer shuts off. Upon recovering, however, the computer just hangs after an attempt and then restarts bringing up a screen saying:
"Delete restoration data and proceed to boot menu" or
"Continue with system restart".
If I try to recover from hibernation again the same thing happens.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

if u r in winXP SP2 u might try this

Give this a shot... Start > Run > Type "cmd" without the quotes and press enter > in the command prompt window type "del C:\hiberfil.sys" without the quotes and press enter.

Next press Start > Click Turn off Computer > Press the SHIFT key and the hibernation mode should appear > hibernate and then turn the power back on to see if that works.
