Default Help with outlook

Hi evry1,

i have windows xp professional. i need to format my hard disk and reinstall the os due to virus issues. but there is a problem:

i need to have my user accounts intact. this is because i have configured outlook for pop3 in my user account. if the user account does not remain intact, i fear that i will lose all the emails and contacts i currently have in outlook.

is this true? is there a way to keep outlook as it is even after reinstalling the os? something like copying certain files or folders to another partition, and then copying them back to their original positions after installing the os? or is there any other way to keep my old outlook settings, emails and contacts?

thanx in advance.
