Default How should we do it


i have my friends IP address and he has granted me password of his shared files . is there any way by which i can connect to his computer for copying files

Well, you can ask ur friend to run an ftp server. Then u can either use the builtin ftp command line client or windows explorer or Filezilla or www.web2ftp.com to list and retreive the files. U connect using the address
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21
replacing the Xx with ur friend's IP.

Or if u both have limewire, you can use the direct connect tab to enter and connect to his IP and search his shared folder.

Or, u can ask ur friend to use a free email hosting site like www.yousendit.com to send the file first to them and then email it to you from there.

I think even DC++ tools can be used for this.

I second setting up a ftp server which would be reliable if not secure.
But this would require configuring,setting username/passwords for access & depending upon the network topology tweak it to allow acces in case if needed.

Tell us how you want to go about it & maybe we can help you get it done.
