Default Programs minimize/inactivate themselves

My PC is made up of 667MHz Cyrix III CPU, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD using WInXP+SP2. While playing game, it minimizes itself to the taskbar and I have to click it from the taskbar to return to the game. This occurs at frequent intervals and even when running other programs. The window becomes inactive by itself and I have to click it/its title bar to make it active again. Please help.

Default

it should be your monitor !
i had a problem with my old monitor. it didnt support many frequencies and games minimized on their own.

try this:
start -> run -> type "dxdiag"
in the 'directx diagnostic tool' window .. choose 'more help' tab
click on 'override' button .. and select override .. give value '60'
ie. you're asking directx to run all directdraw videos at a refresh rate of 60 only

tell us if that helped
