Outlook through proxy server.

I use an internet connection through a proxy server. If I disable the proxy server I will not be able to surf the net. Now the problem.
When I use my Outlook to download mails from Hotmail, the error message given is that some kind of "Proxy user Authentication failed. Contact your administrator". Finally the mail download fails. Can anybody help me to solve this problem?

i think its either your own firewall or your isp's firewall that's stopping it.
the proxy may not be allowing OE to access a few ports reqd

anyways .. its a common and well known problem
i too use proxy to access net .. and i cant make it work too
