I am keeping my messenger status online, but still i am not able to get my any offline messages and i always sign out before closing the internet connection and then then only i shut down down my comp or is there any long duration for which i have to keep my account online. or is there anything like the other user should also use the same yahoo messenger version. Please help.

No there is no such thing.

In fact if u install any other version below 7.0 it ( autoupdater ) automatically prompts you to install a newer version & logs out.So most probably everybody would be using v7.0 only.

Try installing it though if nothing works.
