Default Best DVD Writer

Plz suggest a DVD writer supporting all popular formats (DVD-RAM/DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW/DVD-ROM).

Preferably under 15k.

Only 2 drives support DVD-RAM, The LG and Pioneer (reading). So choices are rather limited. I would opt for the NEC or Pioneer since you cant really afford to buy RAM disks which cost more than the drive itself. I would use liteon's for door stop. The worst drives ever made bar none. Their CD drives were good because pirates could use them to copy games and protected software but their DVD writers are crap. Since NEC is not available in India that would leave you with the Pioneer A108 for around rs 7500. or the A107 for 5000. Since we cant even get decent 4x media, 8x I havent seen in india yet, not many have any 16x media even in japan. Dual layer media costs around US$15 each prob like $50 in india. Everything will do dual with firmware upgrades.
