Scanning and OCR
I have a HP 2488 printer/scanner.
I have a whole pile of magazines which I want to scan and convert to pdf.
I want a software that will scan the document, extract the text and images and write to another format, say pdf, with the same page and text formatting, image placement, etc.
The output shouldn't look like a scanned image, but more like a document.
I am looking for preferably a free software, and a paid one only if there is absolutely no chance of getting a free one with the required features.
I found the ABBYY finereader, but it is paid software. Any suggestions?
