Problem....Cant Increase The Shared Video Ram??

I have IBM R51 Laptop

Specifications are:
Intel 1.5 Ghz Centrino
512 MB Ram (2*256MB) Video Ram is allocated is 8MB
Intel 855 Motherboard
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controler
Running WinXP SP2

1.Cant Increase The Video Ram??
There is no option under the bios to do so,
I cant find Video aperture or something....currently windows is showing
Intel Pentium M
Processor 1500Mhz
598Mhz, 504 MB of Ram

2.Why does it showing the CPU speed as 598 Mhz not as 1500Mhz.

"Video aperture or something" is found in your BIOS. Hit F2 during boot.

That's because of Intel SpeedStep. You're processor runs at full clock speed only when required. Don't bother, the setting's fine as is.

There is nothing like "Video aperture or something"

in my compaq computer, it shows press F1 for setup screen, and it doeesnt show some options like Video Apperture, etc, so i pressed other F keys and on F11 for BIOS, it showed some more options, like Video Apperture.

So just press other F keys until u get BIOS Settings, then there might be an option for Video Apperture.

Try AGP Aperture Size.

I've never used mobo's with onboard (shared) video memory, but I think this is NOT the setting that you should be looking at to increase shared memory. The only reason I asked you to look was your mention of "Video aperture or something" in your original post.

Here's what I found in Intel's documentation for your chipset:

...How much video memory does an Intel® 852GM chipset-based system with "integrated graphics" have? The amount of video memory allocated depends upon the amount of pre-allocated memory set for your system plus something called Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT), or the amount requested by the operating system.

Though the document quotes "852GM" chipset, your 855GM chipset is also implied. There's more in this document.

when i go to bios,
there r 2 options: i mb vga or 8 mb vga.
can't it be increased beyond that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Access IBM>>F1 for Bios Settings

It has a IBM BIOS ...
And they have not included this setting in Display tab..
