Yes, right! Gimme your mobile number and I'll sell it to some shady people and see how many ads you get everyday through SMS/Call, not to mention if you are caught in some criminal conspiracy. At least think before you post.

Yeah, that's stupid. Just enter any random number like 999999999 or something and then select the option in blue which pops up in the confirmation window saying this is not my phone type. then you get a window saying enter your phone type and then enter model number. Thus you can select apps only for your model.

That may be because there is way to directly send application (or rather its wap links) to your phone. That is the reason. So then you can click on that wap link which may come in a SMS message and download that application.

You must have seen that each app there has a code. This is for easy reference that when you go to mobile getjar you just enter the application code to locate and donwload the application. But this scenario is possibly not for which phone number is required. But for previous one yes it is required.

^That looks like a nice way to get your number and then sell it to advertisers.

No. You are better off finding another way to download an app than give them your mobile number.

customer care knows your mobile model because your mobiles register IMEI no. When it makes contact to your service provider. That's why the know your model no.

But there is no way for anyone other than your service provider to know your phones model no. from phone no.
