Adding text to images? ? ?

I have clicked a lot of images using a digital camera.

Since the pictures are of my visits to different places in India, I want to tell the viewer of the image where exactly the picture was taken. As I wont remember the names of all the places a few years down the line.

Is there any software other than MS Paint which allows me to emboss text in images?

I know that there are a lot of such programs but I want something which is really on resources as my PC has only 256MB of RAM(I had two RAM sticks, but one of them stopped working very recently and I will be getting my laptop after 1 month).

Also, is there any extension to IrfanView which lets me optimise images for the net and can do so in batches. I have almost 600 images to convert.

Just click 'B' in Iview i.e. Irfan view

There is a batch resize feature in IrfanView AFAIK.

Hi

I use VideoCharge Studio for it.
I don't sure that it tool help your, but i and my friends use VideoCharge Studio lot of time.
Basically, we are adding watermark (simple text) to video or image files in batch mode.
for some image, need add different text, in case, we use simple TXT file, every string from him - add to image.
