Default what is the SATA harddisk


hi.
i was interested in buying a 80m gb hdd.
when i went to the vendor he asked me which hdd do i want the segate sata or the other one.
i am confused,
what is the SATA harddisk?

SATA or Serial ATA offers much faster flow rate of data(150 mega bits per second MBPS).
It's serial cable is very small and can go upto 1 metre in length.
the consumption of power by the SATA Hard drives is also much better as compared to the IDE drives and Parallel ATA(PATA).
It's disk read and write time is also very fast.
There are other advantages of SATA but I guess these are the well known ones.

Disadvantage of SATA drive is this u cannot make Master-slave combination of two SATA drives coz u can attach only one SATA Drive
