Default partitionin drives...


i got an 80 gig hdd,single partition with win98.i wana create partitions w/o losin the data currently on the disk,any tool which can help me in dat? know bout fdisk but dunno how 2 use it.any other freeware availble?shud b simple 2 use.

I don't know if there's any freeware for this but as q3_abhi said, Partition Magic will do the job. But you should be aware that it can take a very long time for PM to finish the job if there's already a lot of stuff in it. You also have to be careful when choosing the options if you want to leave the data intact while re-partitioning.

When I want to change the partitioning scheme of a hard disk that already has a lot of data on it, I copy everything onto another HD first, quick format it and then partition it afresh.
