Default soundcard problem

sound card:SOUNDBLASTERPC128.
The sound card has two jacks for output of sound ie.. i can connect two pairs of speakers.
I have two probs:
Firstly In case of win98, i installed the software that was given along with the card and i could get the sound from four speakers if it was Windowsmediaplayer(wmp), Realplayer gave output from only pair.

Secondly, in winxp i get the sound from only one pair(the same jack where in win98 realplayer could play). This happens with all apps.
I changed the settings to quadraphonic in the speaker settings but to no use.If i try to install the software for the card the pc slows down ever with no change in the sound signal

2 line IN jacks ? or line OUT jacks
u mean line OUT ofcourse since that supports speakers ...
now ... if u have a 4.1/5.1 speaker set ... tese are the connections u have
front/rear/mic/line in/line out ...
if u have a stereo card
u have speaker/line in/line out/mic
now if ur using one pair on ur line out .... make sure that ur line out is not mute and volume is high enuff in winxp ...
so basically just tell me if ur sound card is 4.1 or no !!!
